In this activity we take two batteries of different sizes and roll them down an inclined plane. We find that the heavier battery rolls to a longer distance. As the final velocity of an object on an inclined plane is constant and independent of mass, the large battery has more momentum than the small battery as it is heavier. This higher momentum allows it to roll to a larger distance.
