If you think we're excited to be hiking again, wait until Mena sees the waterfall for the first time. She nearly loses her mind. That is partially because of how beautiful it is and partially because these nomads have been grounded for over a year...lol. We have been itching to get out again and this seemed to be a perfect opportunity. We've been working hard and we needed a day off.


The ParcdesChutesdeSainteUrsule is located in the Mauricie region of Quebec and is only one and a half hours from Montreal. There was not much traffic outside of the Montreal metropolitan area. That may change with the lifting of COVID19 restrictions and the warmer weather to come. Although there weren't that many people when we were there, we can imagine how busy it gets on a typical summer day. It costs $5/adult to access the park and leashed dogs are allowed on the trail.


The trail follows the path of the Maskinongé River. There are picnic tables at the bottom of the 70 meter waterfall so you can easily bring your lunch and make a day of it.


What impressed us the most, besides the sheer power of the falls, was that you could hear the falls all along the trail. That tranquil sound follows you throughout the park.


One of the many blessings brought about by the pandemic is our rediscovery of the natural beauty in Quebec. It is right here in our backyard and maybe that is why we take it for granted. From Gaspesie, to Charlevoix, to Mont Tremblant, there are still so many wonders for us to explore while we wrap up our van build. While we are eager to hit the road again, we will always come back to spend time with loved ones. Those visits back home will be provide wonderful opportunities to rediscover and help all of you to discover, why we love returning to Quebec.
