Most Common Mistake with Opening Statements (Don't do this!!!)

Follow
Law Venture

A TON of trial lawyers make this mistake with their opening statement. They essentially go from being super friendly during jury selection (or voire dire) and then start hitting the jurors with the drama immediately during their opening.

And because of this, I've seen a number of bad opening statement examples. This is simply because a lot of lawyers haven't been taught how to write an opening statement (whether it be for mock trial, civil law, criminal law, etc.).

Take your trial advocacy and litigation skills to the next level by watching this video to find out how you can make a good impression with the jury with the best opening statement ever!
