This short episode sees us leave behind the haunting village of OradourSurGlane and head north to the beautiful city of Tours. Sue spent a month touring around this part of The Loire valley many years ago and was really keen to go back and explore it with me on two wheels instead of four. We planned to spend three nights in the city and use it as a base to see some of the stunning Chateaux, and also fit in a vineyard tour. Sue's favourite white wine is Vouvray, so I planned a surprise visit to the local Vouvray vineyards a fascinating experience!
Tours proved to be an excellent base and the Medieval old town was a real delight to explore. We would highly recommend it as a stopover if you are visiting the Loire valley.
