MTV (formerly an initialism of Music Television) is an American basic cable and satellite television channel which is a part of the Viacom Music and Entertainment Group unit of the Viacom Media Networks division of Viacom, of which it is a subsidiary. Launched on August 1, 1981, the original purpose of the channel was to play music videos guided by television personalities known as "video jockeys," or VJs.

Lots of MTV designs were aired every year from 1981 'til the late '90s including its different animations, in fact 3 to 5 different animations of MTV every year, so I only pick those significant ones or an MTV design that was aired repeatedly within every year. I can easily review if somebody already uploaded an ident video of MTV (with a year indicated) but so far nothing.
