In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about how Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Akbar capturing the Asirgarh Fort. Asirgarh fort near Burhanpur was part of Khandesh sultanate. After the death of Ali Khan, his son Miran Bahadur Khan declared his independence and refused to pay homage to Mughals. After which Mughal laid seige to the city of Burhanpur. Bahadur Khan took his army and family and took refuge in Asrigarh Fort. The Mughal kept siege of the fort for 11 months but could not capture it. In December 1600, Bahadur khan himself met Akbar but the fort was still intact. Later Mughals were able to capture the fort on 17 January 1601. The fort also has relation to Mahabharat and Ashwatthama.
