Extensor Pollicis Longus
Origin:
Middle 1/3 of Posterior Surface of the Ulna and Interosseous Membrane
Insertion:
Base of the Distal Phalanx of 1st Digit
Functions:
1 Extension of the 1st Digit @ CMC and MCP and IP Joints
2 Abduction (Radial Deviation) of the Hand @ Wrist Joint
Nerve:
Radial Nerve
Extensor Pollicis Brevis
Origin:
Distal 1/3 of Posterior Surface of the Radius and Interosseous Membrane
Insertion:
Base of Proximal Phalanx of 1st Digit
Functions:
1 Extension of the 1st Digit @ CMC and MCP Joints
2 Extension of the Hand @ the Wrist Joint
Nerve:
Radial Nerve
