Join me on a Delightful London Canal Walk along Camden's Lovely Regent's Canal. I start my walk at Kings Cross, which is full of Families and Friends enjoying the lovely weather. As I head westward, I pass Boat Parties, Picnics and Bustling Food Markets.

HISTORY/ ABOUT:

Regent's Canal is a canal across an area just north of central London, England. It provides a link from the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal, 550 yards (500 m) northwest of Paddington Basin in the west, to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames in east London. The canal is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) long.

Primrose Hill is a Grade II listed public park located north of Regent's Park in London, England, first opened to the public in 1842.It was named after the 64 metres (210 ft) natural hill in the centre of the park, the second highest natural point in the London Borough of Camden.The hill summit has a clear view of central London, as well as Hampstead and Belsize Park to the north and is adorned by an engraved quotation from William Blake. Based on the popularity of the park, the surrounding district and electoral ward were named Primrose Hill. The Primrose Hill district is in the London Borough of Camden, England.

Like the Regent's Park, Primrose Hill was once part of a great chase appropriated by Henry VIII. Later, in 1841, it became Crown property and in 1842 an Act of Parliament secured the land as public open space. The name "Primrose Hill" has been in use since the 15th century, giving the lie to later claims that it was named after Archibald Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery, whose premiership witnessed the rapid expansion of London underground rail network London.

The film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason was partially filmed on Primrose Hill.
In the film One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita meet with a neighbouring Great Dane at Primrose Hill, learning from him their puppies were located in Suffolk before setting out to find them.
James McCartney and Sean Ono Lennon, sons of Paul McCartney and John Lennon, respectively, released their first joint collaboration called 'Primrose Hill' in April 2024.
