Living the Dream: My Fighter Jet Journey

From gazing at the skies as a child to finally touching my dream, aviation has been the driving force in my life. Growing up near Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the allure of highperformance military aircraft gripped me, sparking a lifelong passion.

My dream was to own a fighter jet. Despite being shade blind, an obstacle to becoming a fighter pilot, it never hindered my love for flying.

Through building businesses and raising a family—each with their own aspirations—life was a fulfilling journey. Now, with an empty nest and a level playing field, the time had come to pursue my dream.

After an exhaustive search, I found it—an immaculate British BAC 167 Strike Master!

Acquiring it sight unseen, the jet had been in hibernation for eight years. Recently, I laid my hands on it for the first time during initial engine runups and taxi tests.

The accompanying videos capture my emotional first encounter the Strikemaster. Although glitches surfaced during checks, we're ironing those out before the imminent test flight. Confidence abounds, and soon, I'll bring it to Sarasota, Florida, where I'll truly make it mine.
