I served in the USAF from 1977 through 1981, but my time as a crew chief on the SR71 at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan from July, 1980 through December of 1981 was by far the most rewarding time of my Air Force career! These clips are true vintage VHS. The launch and recovery video sequences were all shot by friend Dave Burns, who received special permission from Det 1 Commander Col. Raphael Samay to make the videos.
