So I had my first clinical placement as a continuing care assistant student CCA/PSW. It was... interesting. I definitely learned a lot. I worked as a student in a long term care facility learning on the job and experiencing what it is like to work with multicultural group of coworkers. iT WAS AN unpaid internship. In this video, I discussed few tips to help you during your clinical placement or practicum.
My experience
Am care: it’s fast paced, labor intensive and require you to be on your feet for hours
You have to get used to residents who have dementia and physical inabilities
Coworkers culture determine if your workplace will be bearable or not
You’re the residents first point of contact
It’s a rewarding experience putting a smile on their face
It makes you realize how fast old age. Comes at you

CCA is a one year course
No, you can’t bring your dependant, I explain better in the video, scroll down to see the link. Finish your program, get a one year PGWP or go for another program to get more years of PGWP. With a PGWP, you can bring your dependents.
