I show you everything I carried with me from the start of my Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) thru hike. I used mostly gear that I already had from my many previous hikes, but did upgrade a few items. I also made some changes along the way and a debrief gear video will be coming at the end of my Pacific Crest Trail series.

This is not an ultralight set up, even though some of my items are ultralight gear pieces. I have been trying to lighten my pack for a while, but I'm still far from ultralight. My desire to have certain comfort items and camera gear definitely add to my pack weight.

When I did my shakedown hike a few days before my start date on the PCT I weighed my pack with 2 days of food and some water in it and it weighed 25 lbs. I didn't weigh my pack ever on the PCT, I just never seemed to find the opportunity. So, I'm sorry I won't have an accurate pack weight for you!
