In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I am sharing my mental health journey during my medical training.

I very candidly share my struggles, the "advice" I received from physicians about seeking mental health care, and why I think the stigma and system need to see major changes.

This isn't meant to scare anyone away from medicine, but just a personal experience of what it can be like navigating working as a physician with mental health struggles and hoping to shed some light to reduce the stigma. There are lots of us out there and we shouldn't feel that we can't speak up.❤
