My new off road e-bike. A review of the Engwe E26. First bike ride!

The most outstanding feature of this Engwe E26 bike, in my opinion having hardly used it, is its power. It offers 70 nm of torque meaning that for riding up hills off road, it really performs. It claims a 30 degree hill climbing capacity which I would agree with which is steeper than any road I know of.

The downsides of the bike are the weight and the rear gear ratio which assumes that one goes uphill only in assisted mode.
Two other downsides are easily resolved. The bike basket on the rear is ridiculously wide and does not work unless one has a step through bike so don't bother with the bar at the top. This was offered as an option and for some reason I cannot understand now, I did not think of it. Maybe I wanted a bike that looked like a bike!
