I get asked about my brushes all the time, so I thought I'd do a quick video discussing my TOP 4 brush types: 1. Hakes, 2. Flats, 3. Mops and 4. small calligraphy brushes. I have no brand preferences except for the Pro Arte Ron Ranson Hakes as they are fairly cheap, reliable and versatile, and Winsor & Newton Cotman synthetic flats. The point I try to make here is that you just need a few basic brushes to get started, and then learn to use them well rather than spend a lot of money on lots of expensive brushes to start with without a clear idea of what you really need to get started.
