This video clarifies what exactly are the QL Blocks and how they work. Many approaches and controversies surround this block. Till now it has only proven to block the subcostal and L13 nerves and hence useful for lower abdominal surgeries. No evidence for spread to the paravertebral space in any of the radiographic or cadaveric studies and hence it can not be proven to provide relief from visceral pain.
