Not far from the town of Wyndham, Western Australia, I stumbled upon a number of circular and semicircular stone foundations.
High upon a ridgeline, with commanding views of the adjacent valley with semipermanent water, my initial thoughts were that they could be the bases of birdhide hunting enclosures.
Such enclosures were used extensively across the top end to lure and catch birds of prey for food, and for all I know, may still be in use.
Please let me know your thoughts. Someone with cultural knowledge will surely know, confirm my theory, or put me on the right track.
