Author and philanthropist Sudha Murty has backed her husband Narayan Murthy's notion of committing "70 hours per week" to work in a bid to increase the country's productivity. Sudha Murty, 73, stated that she works "more than 70 hours even at this age" and that she does not perceive the labour as "grinding or anything".
Last year, Narayan Murthy, (the cofounder of Infosys), 77, ignited a nationwide debate with his "IT workers should work 70 hours week" remark.
