As described in their wedding invitation, "We're getting married! We will be having a traditional Sri Lankan Poruwa wedding ceremony. A cocktail hour, dinner and dancing to follow!"
Natalie and Jeremy met while they were both studying for a PhD in Infectious Disease at Washington University in Saint Louis. Jeremy initially thought Natalie found him annoying because she would flee every time he tried to talk to her. Little did he know, Natalie actually had a big crush on him and felt shy when they were around each other. However, after some encouragement from a mutual friend (thanks Katherine!) Jeremy asked Natalie to join him for some noodles and they quickly bonded over a shared love of travel, Asian food, pathogenic bacteria, and complaining about being a graduate student. After graduation and a year of crosscountry romance Natalie moved to San Francisco and the two have been exploring the city, hiking national parks, and traveling the world together ever since. They were joined in matrimony on September 2, 2023 in North Carolina in a multicultural celebration of their love and heritage!
