In today’s video, vlog number 7 of our Portuguese adventure, you voted for us to come and visit Nazaré! Unfortunately, the weather was super foggy and we waited for it to go away but… No luck! Despite that, we enjoyed our day in beautiful Nazaré :)
As we waited for the fog to go away, we became hungry so we went to have lunch at a restaurant called Maria do Mar (recommended by one of you, thank you!). We ordered Ameijoas (clams) and Robalo (sea bass), which came with potatoes and a mixed salad, as usual in Portugal, very traditional. It was the best fish that we’ve eaten in Portugal! Now we know why they say that Nazaré is the place to come if you want fresh fish!
After lunch, we went to Praia da Nazaré (Nazaré’s beach) where we saw the places where the fish is dried and the fishing boats, since Nazaré’s development is due to fishing activity and tourism. The fishing boats that are exhibited on this beach are the ones used to fish by the technique named Arte Xávega, which is fishing through the net near the shore. Our next stop is Sítio, the highest point of Nazaré and one of the most famous spots here! There, we met a lady that explained to us the story behind the Nazarenas’ 7 skirts (7 saias) and we enjoyed the amazing views that the spot offers.
After that, we went to Forte São Miguel Arcanjo, which was built in order to protect the population from the pirates at the time. There’s a small museum where you can understand how the huge waves are created and you can contemplate the surfing boards of the talented and brave athletes that conquered those waves in Praia do Norte (Norte’s beach). On our way home, we spotted some deers, too, it was a nice surprise…

We’re Maria and Du, we met shooting a commercial in Lisbon (Maria’s city) in 2018.
We started a distance relationship flying twice a month (Lisbon Barcelona) and after a few months of that, we finally moved in together in Barcelona, where Du was born and raised (his parents are from South Korea).
We started our Youtube channel because we love traveling, we always enjoy our trips and we wanted to keep our memories through nice videos, now we can share them with you.
Our final goal would be traveling fulltime and someday, helping people around the world doing something nice.
