This is a video guide line which includes how to calculate Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) from LANDSAT imagery (LANDSAT 4&5, 7, 8) using QGIS Software. This is the PART – 1, where the theory related to NDVI and QGIS, or the general description about NDVI and QGIS along with interpretation keys etc are well expressed. It also covers basic concepts about satellite sensors (specially MSS, TM, OLI), band composition (Red and NIR), calculation procedure, interpretation keys for the prepared map of NDVI of an area of interest basically in Bengali language and sometimes also in “Benglish (Bengali + English)” to realize the concepts.
