The Italian Necchi Supernova Automatica was ahead of its time. This machine, purchased new in 1957 could not only do zig zag stitches, but by using a cam system with pattern disks, could create a huge range of embroidery pattern stitches, button holes and specialist stitches.
The Necchi Supernova range has something of a cult following and it's easy to see why.
