I’m super excited to share this with everyone! I’m always excited to enter these contests. I really vibed with the song and just had to make an entry for this one! It’s always awesome to see how much I improve with each piece. I know it’s been awhile since my last one and I’m glad I got an opportunity to make a new animation meme thanks to this contest.

A little bit about the character! Her name is Jackie and she’s a poodle, she’s a drummer for the punk band called Hellhound Heaven. If you follow my work you’ve probably seen the red husky with a mohawk, Harley, he’s the lead singer for this band. You may think Jackie is a new character, but she actually makes a small appearance at the end of the Useless animation meme! I played around with her design a bit for this video though so she looks a little different than she does in that video. This video is kind of just her transformation from a normal white poodle into her punk, emo self!

This video came out pretty much exactly to my vision and I’m super happy with it. One thing that really helped a LOT was shooting my own reference footage. I acted out a lot of these scenes and used the reference as inspiration for the animation, and it was a huge huge help. Absolutely recommend using reference in your work, especially animation, if you can! It’s so incredibly helpful.
