This video covers installing Neopixel LEDs into a BigTreeTech SKR v1.4 mainboard. We first wire the Neopixels and then cover installation and configuring Marlin. We show how Neopixel LEDs trigger and display when heating. I also go into the Marlin M150 command and how you can modify your startup or other gcode to change the Neopixels to any color. This is a very simple project for any BigTreeTech SKR v1.4 owner. BigTreeTech makes it easy to install the Neopixels on the 1.4 and on the SKR Mini with a dedicated port for the Neopixels. They run off of 5V and for most installations separate power wont be required. Just solder up your LED's and plug them in then turn on the features in Marlin.
Neopixels are a great addition to any 3D Printer build if you want to add a bit of color and a nice white light while 3D Printing. The Neopixels start at a blue and go to red once the entire printer is warmed up and ready to print. The M150 command allows you to add custom gcode to your startup and ending scripts. This is a fun and easy 3D Printer project for beginners.
