IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the production of abnormal IgA, an immune response, and deposits of IgAcontaining immune complexes in glomeruli causing damage. Which left unaddressed, the relentless damage to glomeruli can lead to kidney failure and the need for renal replacement therapy, such as transplant or dialysis. The current model of pathogenicity involves four hits that drive the disease development and progression.
