Speaking in a televised address, the Israeli prime minister has again come out against a twostate solution and an independent Palestinian state. 

Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, Marwan Bishara, highlights that the Israeli Prime Minister has firmly rejected proposals from America's allies, friends, and critics, displaying a newfound confidence and assertiveness after months of wavering. Bishara said that Netanyahu adopts a combative tone, emphasizing heroism, victory, and the decisive defeat of Hamas, sidelining negotiations. Bishara added that the Israeli prime minister juxtaposes the demands of captive families with those of fallen soldiers, solidifying his coalition's support while dismissing American influence and asserting Israel's autonomy despite accepting aid.
