Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) is a colonystimulating factor, a manmade form of a protein that stimulates the growth of white blood cells, used to decrease the incidence of infection, by treating neutropenia, a lack of certain white blood cells caused by receiving cancer chemotherapy.

What is it used for?

Reducing the duration of low white blood cell counts (neutropenia) and risk of infection in people treated with chemotherapy for cancer (with the exception of chronic myeloid leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndromes).
