It’s time for a hot hatch showdown!

We’ve got Mat in the allnew Audi S3, and he’s facing off against its key rivals to see just how different it is from the previous generation!

So let’s see how they all compare. Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by a 2litre 4cylinder turbo that can produce 333hp and 420Nm of torque. It’s equipped with allwheel drive, and as new it costs just over £44,000. It’s also the heaviest car here, weighing in at 1,610kg.

Alongside it is the VW Golf R. It’s also powered by a 2litre 4cylinder turbo, but in this instance it produces 320hp and 420Nm. It’s one of the lightest cars here, at 1,525kg, and it’s also the cheapest, coming in at around £43,000.

Next up we have the BMW M135i. Once again it’s powered by a 2litre 4 cylinder, and this produces 306hp and 450Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels, and the car tips the scales at 1,525kg just like the Golf. However, it’s slightly more expensive, costing around £44,000.

Then finally we have the AMG A35. It’s powered by a (you guessed it…) 2litre 4cylinder turbo, and it puts down 306hp and 400Nm. It weighs in at 1,570kg, and it’s the most expensive car in this lineup, costing around £46,000.
