If you’re out of the loop on the new study that showed women are 66% less likely to die from breast cancer, this video will tell you everything you need to know.

I’m Dr Liz O’Riordan. I’m a breast surgeon who’s had breast cancer, and I do the research so you don’t have to

A study published in the British Journal of Medicine today found that women diagnosed with early breast cancer today are 66% less likely to die within the first five years than women treated twenty years ago

https://www.bmj.com/content/381/bmj2...

They looked at every woman diagnosed with breast cancer from 19932015 and followed them up for 5 years.
Your risk of dying from breast cancer is highest in the first three years, and then it drops as the years go by (although breast cancer can come back 2030 years later)

The study found that women diagnosed between 19939 had a 15% chance of dying in the first five years, compared to women diagnosed between 20105 who had a 4.9% chance of dying

Watch the video for a breakdown of the study and what it means to you, and remember to subscribe so you don’t miss my next video.
