In this session of the FASS Showcase on StudentHubLive, Prof Phil Perkins takes us through the incredible range of new module Exploring the Classical World (A229).

The BA (Hons) Classical Studies (Q85) investigates all aspects of the classical world – that’s Greeks, Romans, the Mediterranean and Europe over a period of 1500 years. Prof Perkins shows how the Classical World relates to the modern world.

To squeeze this into one module we’ve had to make some choices about what to include and what to leave aside to study later. We included Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, Athens in the fifth century, Greek theatre, the Roman republic, Latin love poetry, Cicero’s speeches, the assassination of Julius Caesar, and the history of ordinary Roman people.
