I wanted to share our recent visit to Jeckells the sailmakers based in Wroxham, Norfolk UK. They're a family run company that have been in business for 200 years. You will be hard pressed to go to any marina without seeing their infamous logo on stack packs and sails.

We brought our old storm damaged sail in to be measured and used as a template for our replacement Genoa. Richie was kind enough to give us a tour of the sail loft as the production line was closed on Saturday. The production line usually has 10 staff manufacturing 30 sails a week. They cater from small dinghies all the way through to 60 foot luxury superyachts. We developed our own custom sail design bearing the East Coast Sailing logo & text however the level of customisation is unlimited. You're only restricted by your imagination and budget.

This is my 3rd order with Jeckells as I find the quality and customer service is unrivalled as well as their 5 year warranty. I cant wait to see the new sail which should be ready at the end of the year.

We also looked at a few storm jibs on the production line to see how they are rigged and the compatibility with a furling sail system. I was also shown all the various materials & colours they have in stock.

We couldn't resist a bit of powerboating on the Norfolk broads while we were here to make the 2 hour drive worth it. It was much calmer than our last sailing experience on the sea. Hugo also spotted some amazing wildlife :).
