Dr. Mark Belsky, Chief of Orthopedics at NewtonWellesley Hospital, talks about Xiaflex a new investigation drug for patients with Dupuytren's contracture. Dupuytren's contracture is a genetic disease that tightens the tendons in the hand, causing the fingers to curl up. Belsky was involved in clinical research of the drug that is injected into a patient's hand. The Food and Drug Administration is expected to make a decision soon on the drug's approval.
