Meet the new Volvo XC90!

Volvo’s 7seater behemoth has been updated, and it has competitors like the Land Rover Discovery and Audi Q7 in its sights! But is it the smart choice? Let’s find out…

For starters, the exterior design hasn’t changed much compared to the old model. Although that’s not exactly a bad thing! Sure it’s pretty chunky, but what do you expect from a 7seat SUV?! Either way, seeing a few more updates would have been nice.

Take a step inside, and it’s a similar story! You’ll find some new extracomfortable seats up front, along with a few updates such as a wireless charging pad, but otherwise, it’s all pretty similar to the old XC90. There’s a large portrait infotainment screen on the dash, but to be honest, it’s all a bit oldfashioned now. At least the cabin is full of softtouch, nice materials.

Under the bonnet, there’s not much to choose from, with all XC90s rolling up with a 2litre 4cylinder engine. The rangetopper is the T8 plugin hybrid we have here, with the engine combined with an electric motor to deliver 455hp.

Prices for the XC90 start from just north of £60,000… But is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
