The Republic P47 Thunderbolt was a World War IIera fighterbomber aircraft produced by the United States. Renowned as a hardy and versatile machine, the P47 could carry up to 2,500 pounds of external ordnance in addition to its eight .50 caliber machine guns. Propelled by the stalwart R2800 Double Wasp engine that also powered the F4U Corsair, F7F Tigercat, and many other aircraft, the P47 was one of the fastest and heaviest single engine fighters of the war, seeing service in all theaters of the war as a bomber escort, reliable ground attack platform, and lethal dogfighter.

We are proud to announce Nexa, our newest brand for quality balsa aircraft with the P47 Thunderbolt "Touch of Texas", piloted in World War II by Captain Charles Mohrle of the 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, circa 1944.

The Nexa P47 is a .46 – .55 size electric or gas option scale series warbird with a 1500mm wingspan, constructed primarily from balsa wood and covered with a fuelresistant covering. This ARF requires assembly and installation of your choice of servos and power system, and includes flaps, painted pilot, machine gun, antenna and other scale details. The large battery hatch affords ample room for either electric or gas setups. To complete the scale appeal of this beautiful Razorback, the model includes electric retracts and scale struts.
