This is the second part of the flight that turned all too interesting.

For forty minutes it was a delight of smooth air and great flying; then I went and had to land!

The forecast had said that later on in the morning, about an hour or so after this flight, the wind would pick up. Well, it came a bit earlier than expected.

The Automated Weather System simply couldn't keep up with the rapid change in conditions, so it was reporting mild winds pretty much along the runway, which snookered me.

Goarounds are free, and repairs are expensive, so I went around. Twice. Well, once. The second time I noticed the windsock snapped from 90 degrees across the runway (standing full out) to favor the other end of the runway.

As one might figure out, I don't script narration; I just talk into a microphone as the footage plays. It's not like a whole bunch of folks are watching these, after all.

And yes, "poopy air" is the technical term for irregularities in the air.
