I show how to remove the door lock actuator assembly from the door.on this 2000 Nissan Frontier
I intended to make a video on how to replace the actuator, but Amazon sent me the wrong part, so i had to stop recording, and when i recorded the second half of the video (which was going to be the installation of the actuator to the assembly) the video footage got lost. Replacing the actual actuator (door lock) is pretty easy, once you have the assembly out of the vehicle. i believe there are two tabs that release if from the assembly and you can swap it. The second actuator that was sent by some company on Ebay, was very similar to the original, but at the connection part, there was like a small piece of molded plastic, that wouldn't let the plug go all the way in. the Nissan dealership wanted something like $170 for the actuator and wasn't available for a few weeks. That's why i decided to try and find one online and it was super difficult. I did have to modify the entrance of the plug, by grinding out that small molded piece of plastic, that wouldn't let the plug go in and you might have to remove the rubber orange bushing that seals it from moisture. I used a Dremel tool for this process. it was a tiny area inside the part where the plug goes in, that had to be cut out, without damaging the metal connections. This took some patience, but i was able to make this actuator work. It was worth it at the end, because the actuator was only $59.24 free shipping. it was a Dorman part # 759212
