‼️NJ’s Most Picturesque Airport ‼️with a challenging approach referred to as “Carrier Approach”😄

You won't find many more picturesque (and challenging) Airports in the Northeast than AeroflexAndover. It's located in the Kittany State Park in northwest New Jersey about at hour and a half west of New York City. Its 1,981 Runway is located right in the middle of Lake Aeroflex and is about as close to landing on an aircraft carrier that many of us will ever get. Parked out on the grass you'll see plenty of old Tail Draggers and will probably run into Damien of "Andover Flight" who not only gave me my Tailwheel Endorsement but also trained Harrison Ford. The Airport has been featured multiple times in both FLYING Magazine as well as AOPA etc. There really is no bad time to go to Andover but if you can only go once during the year, it may pay to wait until the Fall when the leaves start to turn. I like bringing the Cub here because this is where I first really started to admire them and it's also the perfect strip and as "back country" as you can get legally in NJ (unfortunately). Anyway, take a ride with me in my J3 to get an idea of what it's like flying into this gorgeous airport.
