Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society Adds to the Family another Steam locomotive from the former Nickel Plate Road roster.
NKP #624 a Mikado in the process of shipment from Northwest Indiana to Northeast Indiana. here I have captured the boiler leaving and the running gear work including removal of trailing truck and lead wheelset.this is done with the 133,000lbs frame is suspended in the air. the steam locomotive is loaded on to a flatbed truck for transport off the property and storage before cosmetic rebuilding.
