Following a peer review of a recent engineering report on the Ontario Science Centre's infrastructure, the Ontario government and the board announced they will proceed with the centre's permanent closure after 55 years.

"At the end of the day, we recognize as a board there was no other choice. it was a very difficult decision and weighs heavily on all of us," John Carmichael, board chair said during a Zoom meeting on Thursday.
