Hate paying bank fees as much as I do? There's an alternative to paying $10$15 per month just to open a chequing account...and I share 5 banks in Canada that offer free chequing accounts with no fees at all.

And I mean none of that "We'll waive the fee if you maintain a minimum balance" stuff. Nope, with any of these online Canadian banks (which are all CDIC insured, so totally safe), you can open a chequing account and pay zero monthly fees. Remember, the fewer fees you pay, the more money in your pocket to save, invest or just spend on something better than bank fees!

Motusbank
Simplii Financial

There are more regionspecific credit unions and lesser known banks that may fall into the category of nofee banks in Canada, but I wanted to focus on banks that were online and accessible nationwide. That being said, Motive Financial, Motusbank and Simplii Financial are not available in Quebec (sorry!). Alterna Bank and Tangerine are though.
