Norah Jones (born Geethali Norah Jones Shankar; March 30, 1979) is an American singersongwriter and pianist. She has won several awards for her music and, as of 2023, had sold more than 50 million records worldwide. Billboard named her the top jazz artist of the 2000s decade. She has won nine Grammy Awards and was ranked 60th on Billboard magazine's artists of the 2000s decade chart.

Although she has sold over 36 million albums over the years, for her latest recording Norah Jones decided to change tack. She wanted to give her easytolistento voice a sharper edge and decided to let Tom Waits producer Jacquire King hone the sound on The Fall. The final result is amazing. The multiGrammy Award winner has struck the perfect balance between an honest, rough sound and the beauty of her muchloved voice. The 30yearold American singer has not appeared at the North Sea Jazz Festival before and is therefore a mustsee for fans of her subtle, jazzy singersongwriter repertoire. Revered musicians like guitarist Smokey Hormel (Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer) and drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) provide the musical backing for her performance.
