Norma Match-22 40gr - 1083fps - 22lr Ammo Precision Evaluation - APE - Bullet Review Test at 50ft

The Norma MATCH22 has a muzzle velocity of 1083fps and a weight of 40 grain. It produces 104ft lbs of energy and is priced at $7.99/box of 50. This is significantly lower than most other match grade competition ammos. A very good value once again.

This test was conducted from 50ft away (16.67 yards or 15.25m), with 50 rounds of ammo. I used the Ruger Mark IV Competition model with a standard velocity recoil spring and a 2.25lb Valquartsen trigger.

This ammo is very accurate especially for the price. The only thing I did notice is that it seemed like some of the bullets tumbled making the vertical part of the grouping a bit larger than it could have been. I also had 5 fliers and was very careful when shooting these so I know those where in fact not me this time. 5 out of 50 is 10%. It could have just been an unlucky box? Maybe? You have to be the judge of that.

Here are the facts. Including the fliers the grouping was 1.090" wide by 1.529" high. If you take out the fliers I was able to get 0.963" wide by 0.958" high. This actually make this the best 22lr ammo I have tested to date. 7/29/24

If you are looking for competition ammo, so far it looks like this is the winner. You get both a great value and the accuracy. Nice. I give this ammo a 10/10 even with the fliers because of the value. I also have not shot enough of these to determine if that is the standard or if that was a luck of the draw type thing.
