Mark Peterson continues his journey for the North America Deer Slam. Next up on the list, a California Sambar. Sambar originated from Asia and were brought over to the Hearst Ranch in the early 1920s. After a fire wiped out the enclosure, they decided to let the animals roam the 80,000acre estate. With proper management and selective harvests, these Sambar have thrived for the last 95 years.
