In this build I wanted to make simple Mustang with a base to accompany to Tempest and Bf 109. Eduard Weekend edition was perfect as I intended to use some figures, so the photo etch parts would have gone waist. There are four different paint schemes and I wanted something colorful and an European theater bird. This P51D20 package was perfect for that.

In this video I show more things that I haven't shown in previous videos, for example, how to make the simple base and some finalizing steps of the build.

This was an easy kit to build and I had time to practice a new Tamiya LP paint and new weathering method for metal finish. In some areas it was too stark and in other too light, perhaps I need more practice. But in theory I liked the end result. The other thing that I wanted to test was peeling off the Eduard decal film. The first time in 1/72 Desert Babes it was extremely thin and was hard to peel off, but in this decal film was thicker and peeled off easily. In my opinion it is one unnecessary step in building and doesn't give too much compared to regular decals. Print quality was good at least to my eyes. However I preferred the old Cartograph decals.

The base is simple and perhaps a bit large for Mustang, but it is the same as in my other two 1/48 European WW2 planes.

All in all I'm quite happy with the model and I could build more of these in the future.
