Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways

After the sour end to the steam gala The North Yorkshire Moors Railway tried to pick up the pieces & tried to move forward.

During our annual stay on the NYMR we captured the normal running days during the railway's red timetable operations during the 1st 2 weeks of October 2024.

We feature 6 steam locomotives during the near 2 week period

Peter Best's duo Black 5 The NYMR enforcer 44806 while she still awaits to get out onto the mainline to work into Whitby & S160 2253 Omaha which was making his final runs as a coal powered loco before being converted to oil burning this up coming winter.

The NYMR own Black 5 The NYMR Tribal Chief 5428 Eric Treacy that became a stalwart to the NYMR in becoming for now at the time this video was made the only Whitby certified steam loco to run during 2024.

The Lambton Association Trust's 062 Tank 29 Peggy.

The NYMR's Standard 4 4MT 264 tank 80136 which she is now entering her final 2 years in service prior to withdrawal for overhaul.

The Self Family's 9F 92134 Neville The NYMR Tribal Chief's right hand loco.

Some new lineside locations were ticked off especially as we started to tick off 44806 from the lineside since she returned to steam during Christmas of 2023.

Rerun on board shots took place with 29 Peggy on the 1 in 49 gradient from the ill fated filming of October 2020, 44806 back in the spring of 2024 & 80136 back from October 2023 this time all went well in much better weather conditions.

Allot of things for us to look forward to during our return to the railway in 2025.

Hoping the NYMR can do something gd for the 2025 steam gala in connection with The 200th Anniversary of the opening of The Stockton & Darlington Railway.

NELPG's duo K1 62005 returns to the railway after overhaul & Q6 63395 following completion of new cylinder blocks being fitted.

Pullman Car 79 to return to the railway's dining set following completion of Car 79's overhaul.

44806 finally to ventures out on the Esk Valley branch into Whitby.

2253 Omaha's 1st runs as an oil powered locomotive.
