Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented his "victory plan" to the European Union on October 17, pitching for a NATO membership invitation and a major increase in military support for Kyiv's campaign against Russia's invasion. Addressing leaders of the European Union's 27 member countries at a summit in Brussels, Zelensky also called for more military aid for Ukraine's fight against Russia's invasion. “If we start now and follow the Victory Plan, we can end this war no later than next year," Zelensky said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained on October 17 Kyiv's aspiration to join NATO to Donald Trump when they met and that the U.S. presidential candidate "agreed" with his arguments. "I told him: What is the way out – either Ukraine will have nuclear weapons, and then this is defence for us, or we should have some kind of an alliance," the Ukrainian leader said during a press conference in Brussels.
