Follow
Katie Anderson - Leadership Consultant & Speaker

The original documentary by NHK explores the NUMMI joint venture between Toyota and GM in the 1980s.

Isao Yoshino was responsible for the training program in Japan for the American managers and supervisors to learn the Toyota Way and the Toyota Production System. It was at this time that Mr. Yoshino hired John Shook, the first nonJapanese employee to Toyota Motor Corporation and now the Chairman of the Lean Global Network.

To learn more about the NUMMI joint venture from Isao Yoshino’s perspective, read Case Study 2 in the book “Learning to Lead, Leading to Learn: Lessons from Toyota Leader Isao Yoshino on a Lifetime of Continuous Learning” by Katie Anderson.
