Nystagmus is a vision condition that describes involuntary repetitve eye movements. Impacting a person's vision, and depth perception, affecting balance, and coordination.

These eye movements can occur from side to side, up and down, or in a circular pattern. Making it difficult for both eyes to steadily view objects.

Usually nystagmus starts at a very early age, and is a symptom of another eye or medical problem.

This disorder has multiple classifications, including.

Congenital nystagmus.
Manifest nystagmus.
Latent nystagmus.
Manifestlatent nystagmus.
and Acquired nystagmus.

Some causes of nystagmus may include:

Lack of development of normal eye movement control.

Albinism.

Very high refractive error, for example, nearsightedness (myopia) or astigmatism.

How is nystagmus treated?
