Neurosurgeons at North Mississippi Medical CenterTupelo use the Oarm imaging system for neurosurgical procedures like back surgery. In 2019, NMMC became the first hospital in Mississippi to use an Oarm. The system serves a CT scanner in the operating room, helping neurosurgeons precisely place instrumentation (hardware) like plates and screws for spinal instability. The technology allows for smaller incisions, which leads to less pain, less blood loss, outpatient procedures vs. long hospital stays, fewer complications and faster recovery.
