We finally had time to put this video together that we took before Hurricane Helene! Since then, we were able to clean up just in time for Hurricane Milton to come over top of us . We were fortunate to not have any major damage and only had to repair the ridge vent on the cabin and clean up lots of tree debris. Thankfully because we had solar, back up batteries and Starlink, we were able to watch the weather in real time. While the system is not inexpensive by any means, it is the main reason we were able to move off the grid. We still have to use the generator if running the freeze dryer for food but for candy, we have enough panels now to run and still charge the batteries.
